A few years ago we returned home from our mission in South Sudan a bit broken, a bit tired, but ready and willing to follow God anywhere. We had a mission in our hearts that had been born years earlier but we had to wait for God's timing. That mission, or rather the vision , was to work with Backpackers in Europe and around the world.
When we arrived home almost three years ago from Sept of 2009 we had a dream to raise the money we needed to move to Scotland and set up our new mission. While home we had some changes to the actual function of our mission but the goal stayed the same, to reach backpackers with the gospel of Christ and send them out into the trails of this world carrying that gospel with them.
However our fundraising did not go quite as planned. After 2 and a half years of raising funds we could never get the amount we needed. God had other plans. In December of 2011 we decided to put on hold our mission to the backpackers. It was not an easy choice or one that we even wanted to make after we made it. But the decision was made and we called off our fund raising. God had a lot more to teach us and we realize now we were probably not ready to go yet. But the vision is still there and when the time comes we will be starting up fund raising again.
